Sometimes we learn things the easy way. Sometimes the answers come to us through no effort of our own. Other times, the answer must be found through mental anguish and introspection. Sometimes the answers put you through hell and back.
I have found that the easy answers are generally less rewarding than the difficult ones. I feel as though it takes struggle and strife to improve the person who you are. I have found that trying times do not come without rewards on the other side.
Tonight was one of those rewarding moments.
On another note, the tour has been going incredibly. Ambush and continuance are the nicest and coolest dudes in the entire world. And their bands are really freaking good too.
The road's callin my name, and I gotta answer.

Frickin' Corinth, Mississippi
So tonight we are playing in Corinth, Mississippi.
First off, this town has the highest concentration of mutated rednecks that i have ever seen in one area. The town's Wal-Mart looked like something out of the hills have eyes. In a single five minute trip, me and the guys got stared at like we were either A. celebrities, B. gay, or C. had tumors protruding from our entire bodies. You wouldn't think that C would be weird to them though, seeing as how many of them did. Now, I would normally not make a big deal about genetic mutants, but it does seem slightly hypocritical to stare at people like me when you look like you just got done taking a bath in nuclear waste.
Anyway, so we got to the show tonight, and this "relaxation music" was playing. Apparently music that the owner of the venue had created and recorded himself. There were sounds of trickling rain, which we all agreed sounded more like sizzling bacon, which of course none of us argued with, who doesn't love bacon? In any case, the venue was extremely dimly lit with red and black lights. Tonight started out as one of the more awkward moments of our collective lives. Thank God for the bands that we are on tour with, otherwise, i may actually off myself instead of just wanting to.
Long story short...Get me out of this stinking town.

Nice People
Whatever happened to nice people?
I mean, people who would do things for other people. People who would put other people's needs before their own. People who actually considered someone's feelings other than their own.
I'm not even talking christians here, just everyone. It seems like the entire world is so focused on themselves, it's like they have created their own universe. It's absolutely insane.
So you are having a bad day, oh no your double cheeseburger had pickles and ketchup on it when you EXPLICITLY asked for it without. Oh no a dude cut you off on the road. Oh no you didn't get enough sleep. Well boo freakin hoo. It doesnt mean that you have to be an a-hole all day.
Another thing that bothers me. People that hold having fun as the most important aspect of life. Normally, these people are really good at making fun of people, and getting laughs as a result. However, these people do not realize that there are hearts that break behind the faces of the ridiculed. I wish people would realize that having fun is not the most important thing in the world. Helping people is not fun. Doing the right thing is not fun. Making people feel loved is sometimes not fun. But, like ridicule, it will not go unnoticed by the recipient.
I am sick of seeing our civilization become more self-centered every day.
What i have concluded is this...
A selfish life purely based on making yourself happy is a pointless life. You will not be remembered, your name will be forgotten shortly after you die. Whether you believe in eternal life or not, i dont think life gets more eternal than leaving your mark on the world.
Anyway...I'll stop rambling now.
